Office moves here happen when the building is empty

Almost every commercial move we run in Business Bay starts after six in the evening. Partly that protects your working day, but mostly it is because the building will not give you the goods lift while the rest of the tenants are using it for deliveries and their own deliveries.

Working out of hours needs preparation rather than heroics. The building permit has to cover the night slot, security needs the crew names and vehicle plates in advance, and someone from your side has to be reachable for decisions at eleven at night. We arrange the first two and tell you plainly what we need from you for the third.

We plan backwards from the hour you need to be working again. Desks come apart in a set order, IT comes down last and goes up first, and everything is labelled to a desk number from your new floor plan so the crew places it correctly the first time rather than shuffling it on Sunday morning.

What we handle and what stays with your own people

We disconnect, label, transport and place computers, monitors, printers and network hardware, and we put them back on the right desks. We do not reconfigure your network, your servers or your phone system, and you should not want a moving crew doing that. Have your IT provider present at the shutdown and the restart and we work to their sequence.

Files and records move in sealed numbered crates against a manifest, so a box of client records cannot quietly go missing between two buildings. If you hold documents with a retention obligation, say so at the survey and they move on their own list.

Your trade licence address, your regulator notifications and your Ejari are yours to update. We move the business, not the paperwork behind it, and the licence change is the thing most often left until it causes a problem.

The residential side of Business Bay

Apartment moves in the canal side towers work much like Dubai Marina. There is an underground loading bay with a height limit, a service lift booked in slots, a move permit at each end and usually a refundable deposit held against damage to the lobby and the lift.

The difference is traffic. Marasi Drive and the service roads around the taller towers get congested at the start and end of the working day, and a truck that arrives inside the lift slot but cannot reach the bay has still missed the slot. We schedule around that rather than pretending it is not there.

If you are moving between two Business Bay towers, which happens a lot here, we book both lift slots for the same day and run it as one job. That is usually cheaper than two half moves and it means your furniture is only handled once at each end.

What drives the price of a Business Bay move
